I needed to cool off my tank and this seemed like a really functional and practical way to do so without spending a fortune. The AQQA Aquarium Chiller is easy way to drop the temp of your water and not disturb your underwater pets. The kit comes with three linked fans and a wired controller that is built into the power line. Each of the fans has their own clamp and each fan also has a considerable amount of wire to place them however you want around the top of the tank. The clamps went on very easily and they are pretty hefty. Once you get it clamped on and tighten it up, it stays put and I didn’t notice any jiggling or change in its mounted position. That being said, ensure you plan out where you are going to place the fans, as they do have a limited degree of tilt to them. I recommend angling the fans the way you wish before you clamp it on to see if they are directed in the correct areas. Each of the fans has a great LED lighting scheme and they really look great at night. It gives the top of the tank a really great look. The controller enables you to change the speed and the timing of how long you with have the fans running. The fans all turn at the same speed, they don’t have individual control. It gives you 5 different speeds to choose from and overall they are pretty quiet. The top speed is a little much and does give off some fan noise, it was my only complaint if I had to make one. Additionally, you can choose to have the fans on a timer, anywhere from a half hour, up to 12 hours in different increments that are shown on the controller. Depending on what you choose you get a visual indicator of your speed and the timer setting. Using the timer isn’t required and you can just have them on all the time if you wish. Overall, for the price point, the functionality, and the cool look of the lighting I give them four stars. I took one star away due to the strange way the fan heads are angled, I would have thought they would have more adjustment in them, but they still do a great job.
